Yükseköğretim Kurumları Destekli Proje, 2021 - 2022
This project primarily aims to analyze whether the laboratory education to be applied in order to eliminate the technical education deficiencies of the students studying in the Medical Laboratory Techniques and Pharmacy Services programs will increase the academic success of the students in the courses that are directly related to the practice course, by measuring their academic success in the practice courses.
Our project is planned to form a control group within itself in order to determine the study group and control group to measure the academic achievement of the students, in order not to prevent all the students included in the research from receiving education.
In this approach, information will be given about the application of the course in which the students are involved, and how well the students understand the subject will be evaluated with the Laboratory Preliminary Achievement Test (LABT), which measures visual analysis, problem solving, remembering and using information. Afterwards, students will be given laboratory applications. At this stage, two student groups will be formed in order to measure the students' ability to use information. While one of these groups will be subjected to the same measurement tests before and after the application, the other group will be subjected to a test with the same scope but different questions from the test questions presented before the application. All students who have completed their applications will be required to prepare a laboratory report within a certain period of time. The Laboratory Achievement Test (LBT) will be designed by the researchers in order to determine the learning levels of the students, covering all the subjects related to the experiments. Within the scope of the study, LÖBT and LBT tests will be applied as the same (measuring information) or different (using information with indirect questions) according to the application course. The reliability of the tests to be administered to the students will be measured by the test-retest method. Since the success of this method is inversely proportional to the time elapsed between repeated tests, the time between two tests will be examined by ensuring that students take the same test on the same day and on a different day. In a group different from the application group, the reliability of the tests will be determined by applying the tests to the students who have not taken the relevant application course since direct laboratory training has not been given in our college before.
The outputs obtained from the results of the study are:
1. To determine the level of remembering and using information with theoretical knowledge without receiving practical training,
2. Determining the levels of remembering and using information after the application training,
3. It will contribute to the determination of the applications that increase information recall and to determine which approach can increase the academic success of the students in the applications, and to the development of the educational materials and the techniques used in the applications in the light of all these data.
The result of the study will be presented as a publication, the application contents will be updated based on the result of the study, the exam archive will be created, and printed/electronic education materials will be created and written Turkish education materials will be brought to the literature within the scope of contribution to education.
