Abstract:Bu çalışma çerçevesinde, öncelikle politik savaş kavramı George Kennan'ın formülü ışığında anlatılmış ve ardından çeşitli açık ve örtülü dış politika araçları, ilgili politik savaş formülünün alt unsurları olarak açıklanmıştır. Ardından politik savaşın daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi amacıyla Soğuk Savaş'ın başlangıç döneminde Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nin İtalya'da yürütmüş olduğu bir politik savaş örnek olarak sunulmuştur. Söz konusu örneğin açıklanması, ilk kısımda politik savaşın alt unsurlarının açıklanması ile uyumlu bir biçimde düzenlenmiştir. Böylece politik savaş kavramı hem genel hatlarıyla hem de tarihten bir örnekle okuyucuya sunulmuştur. Tezin hazırlanması aşamasında konu ile ilgili çeşitli kitaplardan, makalelerden ve internet kaynağından yararlanılmıştır. Konu ile ilgili yeterli bilgi yerel literatürde yer almadığından çoğunlukla yabancı kaynaklara başvurulmuştur. Within the framework of this study, the concept of "political warfare" was initially explained in the light of George Kennan's formula and subsequently both overt and covert several foreign policy tools were described as the sub-categories of the relevant political warfare formula. Afterwards, with the aim of comprehending the political warfare concept better, a political warfare which was conducted by the United States in Italy at the outset of the Cold War was given as an example. This example was explained in accordance with the sub-categories of political warfare which was defined in the beginning. Hence, the concept of political warfare was both presented in general terms and explained profoundly with an example in the history. Various books, articles and internet sources concerning the related issue were benefitted in the course of the preparation of thesis. Since there weren't adequate information relating to the issue in the Turkish literature, English-written sources were mostly used.
