Abstract:
This thesis is a research which covers giving information about the
course of Quran memorization and presenting an analysis of how Muslims
continue the same tradition today and, while identifying main problems
within the process, suggesting a solution.The study consists of three
main parts. In the first part, information about the historical process
of memorization is given and the issue of how the tradition of Quran
memorization has reached the present day is touched upon. The second
part was prepared through visiting various countries and personally
conducting on-site investigations of the Quran memorization situation in
our age. In this part, memorization in the countries involved was
investigated dealing with various aspects; in terms of methods and
places where they are applied; in terms of program and its status in the
country; in terms of the quality and quantity of teachers and students;
etc.In the third and last part, an alternative method, which suggests
solutions to existing problems in order to achieve better quality
results in Quran memorization training and take right steps towards
professionalism in this regard, is presented.Keywords: Memorization,
