Abstract

Osteoarthritic pain is the most common and important symptom in osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritic pain has complicated and complex properties. Articular tissues,except articular cartilage, have rich nosiseptive network. With the stimulation of nociceptive system pain begins.Tissue destruction, infl ammation,mechanical stres can cause harmful stimuli. Harmful stimuli have thermal, chemical and mechanical features. Pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods should be carried out for the treatment of OA.The drugs used in medical treatment of OA are symptom and disease modifying osteoarthritic drugs.
