Abstract

Two Typhloctonuc Muma, 1961 species were recorded during surveys (1990-1992) in orchards in the Thrace region of Turkey. These species are named Typhloctonus tiliarum (Oudemans) and Typhloctonus aceri (Collyer). T. tiliarum is a very common species, while the other one is extremely rare. Typhloctonus species feed on other mites, such as Tetranychus spp. and Eriophyes spp. T. aceri represents a new discovery of Turkish fauna.
